Devon Hideaway is a charming two-bedroom detached cottage set within a peaceful 3.5-acre estate in the heart of West Devon’s countryside. With an enclosed garden, access to a heated indoor pool, and dog-friendly walking trails right on the doorstep, it’s the perfect spot for a family holiday or countryside escape with your four-legged friends.
Full Property Description:
Nestled on a small, tranquil development of just 14 properties, Devon Hideaway offers a cosy home-from-home for families, couples, or friends looking to explore Devon and Cornwall. The cottage sleeps four across a king-size master bedroom and a comfortable twin room, with a bright open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area at its heart. The kitchen comes fully equipped with a dishwasher, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, and even an air fryer, while the living area opens onto a private deck with seating.
The enclosed garden is perfect for children and dogs, while the secluded deck makes a lovely spot for morning coffee or evening stargazing — this is a Dark Sky area, so the night skies are incredible. The bathroom features a powerful shower, and guests also have access to additional shower and changing facilities by the pool.
Beyond the cottage, the estate is a peaceful haven of 3.5 acres, complete with a picnic area, children’s play space, and a well-stocked fishing lake. Fishing is free to guests, and the heated indoor swimming pool (9am–9pm) is shared between just a handful of cottages, so you’ll rarely need to share it. From the site, you can join the Ruby Way cycle and walking trail, linking into the famous Tarka Trail.
Devon Hideaway is ideally placed between Dartmoor and the North Devon coast, just 25 minutes from Bude’s year-round dog-friendly beach and sea pool. With gin distilleries, adventure parks, moorland walks, and charming villages all nearby, there’s something here for every family member — furry or otherwise.
