We are SO excited to welcome you to our home! As the founders of XL Escapes, we pour our hearts into creating a space where you can relax, unwind, and make lasting memories.

With two rescue dogs—Holly from Bosnia and Buddy from All Bullie Rescue—and Nala, our beautiful ginger cat (and undisputed Queen of the house), we understand how important it is to feel not just at home, but truly content and relaxed—especially when traveling with your furry companions.

Our goal is to offer more than just a holiday; we want to provide a home away from home where you can escape daily pressures, have a laugh, and enjoy quality time with loved ones. Whether it’s a cosy night in, exploring the local area, or simply making time for yourself, we’re here to make your stay special.

Tucked away on a peaceful working farm near Machynlleth, this is no ordinary camping pitch — it’s a private, dog-friendly escape where unlimited dogs stay free. With secure fencing (4ft, plus new 1.5m screening at the back), firework-free skies, and mountain spring water straight from the tap, it’s the perfect off-grid adventure for dogs and their humans.

The Dulas Camping Pitch offers an exclusive slice of Mid Wales countryside. Whether you’re arriving with a campervan (up to 7m), a tent, or even car camping, you’ll have this fully enclosed pitch all to yourself. The pitch itself is impressively spacious too — approximately 52m long by 17m wide at its widest point, with a 5.5m-wide gated entrance and a unique “lollipop” shape layout, giving dogs plenty of safe space to relax, potter, and zoom around. Dogs are truly at the heart of this place. The 4ft-fenced boundary, now with added 1.5m screening at the rear, means dogs can safely relax off-lead with even more privacy. Sheep can be moved from the fields if needed, and if you’d like extra zoomie space, the hosts may be able to allocate you a livestock-free field (good recall required). Best of all, there’s no limit on the number of dogs — and no extra charge. Facilities are rustic but thoughtful. A private bathroom shed provides a hot shower, flushing loo, Belfast sink, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, and even a spare socket for charging. Drinking water is fresh, filtered mountain spring water. The pitch itself is simple — no mains electricity — so you can enjoy a truly peaceful break under Dark Skies, with shops just 10 minutes away and the beach at Ynyslas or Aberdyfi within 25 minutes. They welcome all breeds of dogs, including XL Bullies and reactive dogs. Unlimited dogs welcome, free of charge. Secure enclosed pitch with 4ft fencing, additional 1.5m rear screening, and a large 52m x 17m layout. Sheep can be moved away if needed; livestock-free fields may be available for extra zoomies (recall required). Firework-free zone — no bangs heard here for over 6 years. Dogs must be kept on leads when outside of the pitch (working farm). 1 medium or 2 small dogs allowed in the bathroom shed on a lead. Hosts like to know what breeds are visiting, simply so they can plan the safest, happiest stay.

Neighbourhood Overview:

The pitch is just 10 minutes from shops in Machynlleth, 25 minutes from the beaches of Ynyslas and Aberdyfi, and a 10–15 minute walk to the Afon Hengwm River. Set on a working farm in the hills of Mid Wales, the location feels remote but is never far from essentials. Walking and bike trails are nearby, offering plenty to explore for both dogs and humans.
