Full Property Description:
Here at The Layby Lincs, we are an adults only and pet friendly luxury rural retreat. Dennis our fire engine and Gee Gee our race horse transporter have 3ft enclosed garden spaces for supervised off lead time whilst you are soaking in the hot tub. With Air Conditioning, fast WiFi, and no shared facilities you can escape to nature but without sacrificing any modern comforts. (You're welcome to stay in any of our vehicles, but unless in the enclosed gardens at Dennis or Gee Gee you must keep your pets on long lines as a minimum).
We are just off the southern edge of the Wolds AONB in Lincolnshire, think quintessential English rolling hills, and a short drive form 50 miles of the most amazing sandy coastline. We are really fortunate to be surrounded by an abundance of dog friendly restaurants and attractions.
Our ethos is Repurpose, Recycle and Relax. The whole site is powered through our solar and battery system, the vehicles themselves were saved from an unknown future and potentially going for scrap. The deck boards are made from 97% recycled materials. The duvets and pillows are sourced from a UK company that recycle cotton and feathers. All of our cleaning and toiletries are from UK companies, they are natural based, cruelty free and are closed loop, so we send our empties back to them.
A relaxing escape with a guilt free nature. Perfect for those wanting some peace away with their pooch.

For Our Four Legged Guests:
Dog owners, if you’re booking with Layby Lincs, we recommend choosing Dennis or Gee Gee if outdoor space is important to you, as these are the vehicles with their own enclosed garden areas.
Layby Lincs welcomes dogs of all breeds and sizes, including XL Bullies, and there’s no extra charge for bringing your dogs.
Best choice for dog owners
- Dennis or Gee Gee are recommended for dog-friendly stays
- These both have enclosed garden spaces
- Dogs are welcome in all vehicles, but Dennis and Gee Gee offer the best setup if you want outdoor space
Outdoor space & fencing
-Dennis and Gee Gee each have their own enclosed garden area with 3ft stock fencing. The fencing does have gaps large enough for very small dogs to get through, so tiny breeds will need close supervision.
- The wider site also has 5ft fencing and hedging, but because of local wildlife, this isn’t guaranteed as a fully secure boundary.
- In short: this is a lovely setup for most dogs, but not ideal for tiny escape artists or dogs who love testing fences for fun.
Lead rules & off-lead time
- Dogs must be kept on a lead across the site
- Long lines are absolutely fine
- Dogs can have supervised off-lead time in the enclosed gardens at Dennis and Gee Gee
Surroundings
- Layby Lincs is surrounded by open farmland and fields, with a quiet road out front. It’s especially peaceful on evenings and weekends.
- There are chickens on site, but the owners keep them in their run when dogs are visiting, which is much fairer and safer for everyone.
Reactive dog suitability
- The owners have confirmed the space is suitable for reactive dogs. The rural setting, private space and open surroundings make it a good option for dogs who need a bit more breathing room.
What’s provided
- Indoor and outdoor blankets
- Water bowl
- Poo bags
- Dog towel
- Dog treats
- Dog-friendly bedding for dog-friendly stays
-A dog shower is also being built, so you’ll soon be able to rinse off sandy, muddy paws after beach trips and adventures.
Dog rules
- Dogs must not be left unsupervised
- Dogs must be kept on lead unless in the enclosed gardens at Dennis or Gee Gee
- Please let the owners know if you’re bringing dogs so they can safely keep the chickens in their run

Local Area Guide:
Layby Lincs is set in a peaceful rural spot, surrounded by open farmland and fields in every direction — it’s the kind of place where you can properly switch off, with space, fresh air, and very little going on (in the best way).
There’s a road out front, but it’s quiet, especially in the evenings and at weekends, so you still get that calm, countryside feel without feeling cut off.
If you do want to head out, you’re in a great location for it. The area is packed with dog-friendly pubs, restaurants, and attractions, plus plenty of places to explore with your dog — whether that’s countryside walks or trips further afield towards the coast.
It’s a really nice balance of peace and privacy when you want it, with plenty to do nearby when you don’t.
Meet The Owners
Louise and Alex live on site and are here to ensure you have the best getaway possible, we are a small independent site with just the five uniquely themed vehicles. No agents, no staff, just us welcoming you to our little slice of heaven. We love all pets, and look forward to meeting whomever you bring with you.

Paw of Approval

XL Escapes Peace Of Mind Promise
Every business you see on XL Escapes has confirmed to us that they welcome XL Bullies.
Before being listed, we ask the questions we’d want answered ourselves — from real experience living and travelling with XL and reactive dogs. That includes confirming they are happy to host XL Bullies, that their listing details are accurate, and that they’ve considered their own legal and insurance responsibilities.
We don’t assume. We don’t guess. We ask — and they confirm.
If anything changes or a business doesn’t stand by what they’ve told us, we take it seriously.
If a business listed on XL Escapes turns you away because of your dogs breed, contact us. We will review it, remove them if necessary, and refund your membership.
