Local Area Guide:

Laverock Lodge sits on Laverock Hall Farm, just half a mile outside the village of Eggleston near Barnard Castle. The farm lies within the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a UNESCO Global Geopark and Site of Special Scientific Interest. Surrounded by open countryside at over 1,000 feet above sea level, guests can enjoy peaceful walks with very little traffic. The Yorkshire Dales are around 30 minutes away, while the Lake District can be reached in approximately an hour. Wildlife is plentiful around the farm, including rabbits, pheasants and resident Red Kites, while the surrounding working sheep farm creates a truly rural setting.

Meet The Owners

Laverock Hall Farm was originally converted into holiday cottages by Marcus and Mandy Bainbridge after recognising the growing demand for genuinely multi-dog-friendly accommodation. Today, Kieran and Saki Drea are proud to continue that legacy, welcoming guests and their dogs to experience everything the farm and surrounding countryside have to offer.

XL Escapes Peace Of Mind Promise

Every business you see on XL Escapes has confirmed to us that they welcome XL Bullies. Before being listed, we ask the questions we'd want answered ourselves — from real experience living and travelling with XL and reactive dogs. That includes confirming they are happy to host XL Bullies, that their listing details are accurate, and that they've considered their own legal and insurance responsibilities. We don't assume. We don't guess. We ask — and they confirm. If anything changes or a business doesn't stand by what they've told us, we take it seriously. If a business listed on XL Escapes turns you away because of your dog's breed, contact us. We will review it, remove them if necessary, and refund your membership.
