Full Property Description:
Set in a village location, Lapema Dog Garden was originally created as an enrichment space for our own Alaskan Malamutes and Labradors. These breeds can happily go over, under or through many types of fencing, and our Malamutes proved to be expert climbers, so wire fencing simply wasn't an option for us.
We recognised there was a need for people to safely and securely train and exercise their dogs, so we opened the field for individual hire. The field is never shared between multiple customers at the same time — it is exclusively yours for the duration of your booking.
Unlike many secure fields, you receive your full booked session. We don't ask customers to leave early to fit bookings in every hour. Instead, we leave a 10-minute gap between every booking, whether you've booked 30, 45 or 60 minutes. We want to help avoid unwanted encounters when arriving or leaving.
We welcome all dogs — big or small, social or not. Every dog is different, and every dog deserves the chance to run freely in a safe, secure environment without judgement.

Meet The Owners
I am a licensed breeder and exhibitor of large breeds, and the Alaskan Malamute in particular can be misunderstood by many people. They're notoriously poor at recall as part of the breed, so off-lead exercise in public can be stressful and limited.
We were fortunate enough to have the space to create this field with one of our Malamutes, Fabio — also known as "The Beast" — in mind. At nearly 60kg, he was our biggest and strongest dog and was never able to safely enjoy a proper free run. That's how the dog garden came to life.
We believe dogs should be able to enjoy life safely and without judgement, regardless of breed. We firmly believe in judging the deed, not the breed, and welcome every dog.

XL Escapes Peace Of Mind Promise
Every business you see on XL Escapes has confirmed to us that they welcome XL Bullies. Before being listed, we ask the questions we'd want answered ourselves — from real experience living and travelling with XL and reactive dogs.
That includes confirming they are happy to host XL Bullies, that their listing details are accurate, and that they've considered their own legal and insurance responsibilities.
We don't assume. We don't guess. We ask — and they confirm.
If anything changes or a business doesn't stand by what they've told us, we take it seriously.
If a business listed on XL Escapes turns you away because of your dog's breed, contact us. We will review it, remove them if necessary, and refund your membership.
