We are SO excited to welcome you to our home! As the founders of XL Escapes, we pour our hearts into creating a space where you can relax, unwind, and make lasting memories.
With two rescue dogs—Holly from Bosnia and Buddy from All Bullie Rescue—and Nala, our beautiful ginger cat (and undisputed Queen of the house), we understand how important it is to feel not just at home, but truly content and relaxed—especially when traveling with your furry companions.
Our goal is to offer more than just a holiday; we want to provide a home away from home where you can escape daily pressures, have a laugh, and enjoy quality time with loved ones. Whether it’s a cosy night in, exploring the local area, or simply making time for yourself, we’re here to make your stay special.
If you have any requests—big or small—just let us know. We’re always happy to help (and we love an excuse to bring a smile to your face, drink in hand, of course!).
Meet Your Hosts
Owners James and his partner Rhiannon opened Dunkin’ Doggies in 2025 after identifying a gap in the local market the year before.
As passionate dog owners themselves, they wanted to create a safe, welcoming environment where all dogs could enjoy the benefits of swimming. Their inspiration came from their own dogs: Nellie and Pearl, their Pocket Bullies, and Meekz, their beloved XL Bully.
Meekz had always loved the water, whether swimming in the sea or splashing in local ponds. However, following changes in legislation, he was no longer able to enjoy the same freedom off lead.
James and Rhiannon recognised that many XL Bully owners faced similar challenges and wanted to provide a secure, controlled space where dogs like Meekz could continue to exercise, have fun and enjoy the water safely.
Today, Dunkin’ Doggies is proud to be an inclusive, XL Bully-friendly facility, welcoming responsible owners and their dogs in a positive, judgement-free environment.

XL Bullies are welcomed, including exempt XL Bullies.
Reactive dogs are welcome.
Sessions are private unless otherwise agreed.
Up to 4 dogs can attend per session.
Dogs of all breeds and abilities are welcome.
The pool is heated to 30°C during winter months and 27°C during summer months.
The facility is suitable for nervous dogs, senior dogs and dogs recovering from injury.
Dogs must be fit and healthy to swim.
Dogs with contagious illnesses, vomiting, diarrhoea, kennel cough, open wounds or infectious skin conditions must not attend.
Female dogs in season are not permitted in the pool.
Owners must inform staff of any medical conditions, injuries or behavioural concerns before the session.
Exemption certificates may be requested for XL Bullies.
Owners are responsible for ensuring their dog complies with all current UK legislation.
Any legal requirements relating to leads, muzzles or exemptions remain the responsibility of the owner.
Dogs must remain under control at all times while on site.
Dogs must be kept on a lead when entering and leaving the premises unless instructed otherwise by a member of staff.
Dogs must not be left unattended at any time while on site.
Owners remain responsible for their dogs throughout the visit.
Dogs should be given the opportunity to toilet before entering the pool area.
Dogs should not be fed a large meal within two hours of swimming.
Owners must clean up after their dogs immediately. Waste bins are provided on site.
Staff reserve the right to end a session if they believe continuing would compromise the welfare of the dog.
