Barn Owl Cottage was the first cottage at Holidays With My Dogs and the beginning of the business in 2017.
Situated in peaceful rural Cambridgeshire, just a five-minute drive from Ely, Barn Owl Cottage has been thoughtfully designed to provide a relaxing holiday for both people and their dogs. Every detail has been created with dogs in mind, allowing owners to relax knowing their companions are just as welcome as they are.
The front door opens into a practical hallway with coat, shoe and lead storage, making it easy to settle in after a day exploring the secure fields.
The open-plan kitchen and living area creates a warm, welcoming space with a dining table, bespoke sofa, wood-burning stove (logs included), Freeview TV, DVD player, Bluetooth soundbar and digital radio with Spotify. Underfloor heating throughout, powered by an air-source heat pump, keeps the cottage cosy all year round.
The fully equipped kitchen includes everything needed for self-catering, including a full-size fridge/freezer, induction hob, oven, microwave, slow cooker, dishwasher, cafetière, cookware, baking equipment, food storage containers and everyday essentials such as tea, coffee, oil, vinegar, salt and pepper.
Outside, floor-to-ceiling windows open onto a fully enclosed private garden with artificial grass, slate landscaping, fairy lights, BBQ, outdoor seating and a private hot tub. Guests also have enclosed private parking with direct access to the secure dog walking fields via a double-gated pathway.
Barn Owl Cottage has two spacious bedrooms sleeping up to four guests. Both bedrooms feature super king-size beds, with one able to be configured as twin beds if required. Luxury Egyptian cotton bed linen, goose feather duvets, a choice of pillows and throws for dogs are all provided.
The bathroom features a full-size bath with a powerful shower over, together with complimentary toiletries, towels and bathrobes.
Throughout your stay, the aim is to provide a genuine home-from-home experience where both humans and dogs can completely relax.

XL Bullies are welcomed, as confirmed by the owners.
Reactive and nervous dogs are well catered for thanks to exclusive use of the secure walking fields.
Dogs are welcome on sofas and beds. Throws are provided to help protect the furniture.
Dogs may be left unattended if they are comfortable being left alone. Owners of dogs likely to bark or become distressed are asked to arrange a dog sitter. Recommendations can be provided.
The private garden is fully enclosed with fencing over 2 metres high.
The garden measures approximately 250 square feet and is finished with artificial grass and slate.
There is at least 6 metres between neighbouring cottage gardens, helping reduce visual contact with other dogs.
Guests have enclosed private parking with direct access to the walking fields via a double-gated secure pathway.
Guests have complimentary access to approximately 8 acres of secure walking fields, booked in private time slots so dogs never need to share the space with unfamiliar dogs.
Dogs must remain on lead outside enclosed gardens and secure fields as the site shares land with the owners' home.
A hot and cold outdoor dog shower is provided.
Full-size fridge/freezer offers plenty of space for raw feeding, with deliveries available from the local pet shop.
Dog towels, bowls, biodegradable poo bags, holiday dog tags, Pet Remedy spray, accident cleaning spray, emergency first aid supplies, cooling mats, paddling pools and shaded outdoor resting areas are all provided.
Spare crates, dog beds, puppy pen, raised feeders and a car ramp are available to borrow on request.
The secure fields contain ponds and are available exclusively for guests.
Dogs are not permitted in the hot tub.
Children should not use the dog agility equipment in the secure fields, as it is designed for dogs only.

The team behind Holidays With My Dogs live and breathe dogs.
Having experienced life with their own anxious dog, they designed the cottages around the things they always wanted from a holiday but struggled to find elsewhere. Their aim has always been to create somewhere that allows every member of the family, including four-legged ones, to truly relax.
Rather than simply allowing dogs, everything has been planned with them in mind, from secure walking fields and enclosed gardens to dog showers, hampers and thoughtful extras that make travelling easier.
